Making a Mark on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile

Embracing technology and the lifestyle of the consumers that use it, we created a transformational space that would let their consumers experience innovation.

Merchandised zones devoted to sports and fitness, music, gaming, home monitoring and energy management, provide access to devices, accessories, and apps to help guests self navigate, and uniquely experience the store in a way that personally connects to one’s lifestyle. Smart technology throughout the space communicates at an intricate level that delivers the right product for their needs, as well as exposing them to the possibilities of what they can truly do with the assistance of technology.

Paying homage to the city’s unique culture and heritage, authentic elements like the “L” subway train signs and notable architectural cues were integrated into the space. A three-story atrium provides a breathtaking view of nearby landmarks such as the Hancock Tower and Water Tower Place, and showcases a three-story video wall, which serves as digital billboard for Michigan Avenue shoppers.

Houston’s Boulevard Place:

It’s no surprise that Verizon also selected Houston as their next destination for launching their new concept store. With a city that is known for innovation—the world capital of space exploration and international energy—together we brought to life the embodiment of innovation…. something this community is familiar with and expects.

The store’s entire second floor highlights Verizon’s business partnerships with interactive displays showcasing products such as smart pumps for oil and gas companies, fleet tracking systems for trucks, and tablets supporting medical technology.

Each store is unique to the consumers that experience them, and distinct in how we delivered the technological opportunities of their consumer lifestyles. Providing an authentic community expression is core to these store environments. Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade:

Just minutes from the world-famous Santa Monica Pier, the Verizon Destination Store Santa Monica is the company’s first on the west coast. The nearly 8,000 sq. ft. retail space carries through an interactive lifestyle zone strategy, but also features unique design and experience elements that are exclusive to this destination.

Reflecting the importance of art in the local community, a large-scale wall mural was created by piecing together over 1,600 Customize It cellphone cases featuring local imagery. Guests can also indulge in a little selfie booth fun with a photo next to the iconic Hollywood sign, experience what it feels like to take the NFL field with a virtual reality simulation, or explore “The Skate Shop” for exclusive accessories and hot hardware.

Using a variety of sustainable building materials, the environment also evokes the authentic character of the community, including wood flooring to represent the Santa Monica pier.
